1. What time do I need to arrive for my treatment?

In order to enjoy your full treatment time, please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your initial appointment time to complete a personal details form. Physiotherapists at Koombana Physiotherapy always aim to run on time for all of their appointments.

2. I am a Department of Veteran Affairs patient. Can I have treatment at Koombana Physiotherapy?

Yes, we happily see DVA patients who hold a current GP referral. Please bring your DVA card to your first appointment.

3. I have a workers compensation injury. Can I receive physiotherapy treatment at Koombana Physiotherapy?

At Koombana Physiotherapy we provide first class physiotherapy and rehabilitation services for people unfortunate enough to be injured at work.

Having a work injury can be a stressful time. The process can be a bit messy and confusing, especially if you are not used to navigating our health system. All our physiotherapists are experienced in the workings of the workers’ compensation system and can help to remove some of the stress and confusion associated with a work injury.

The successful management of a person injured at work requires timely intervention, quality physiotherapy, great communication with all parties and a comprehensive rehabilitation and return to work program. Our exercise rehabilitation and pilates spaces are perfect for implementing rehabilitation programs, in a non-threatening, highly supervised environment.

Please note that we do charge a gap fee on all of our Workers’ Compensation appointments. This $10 fee is payable by the patient on the day of treatment and allows us to maintain our standard consultations at half an hour duration. We passionately believe that providing a longer consultation, allows us to provide our highest level or service, which should ultimately result in better outcomes for the patient.

Please advise our receptionists that you have sustained a work injury at the time of booking.

4. Can I use Eftpos and Credit Cards?

At Koombana Physiotherapy we accept Cash, Eftpos, Visa and Mastercard as forms of payment.

5. Can I use my Private Health Insurance to claim for treatment?

All services provided at Koombana Physiotherapy are covered under private health insurance. A gap fee will apply depending on your health insurance company and your level of cover. Please contact them directly to enquire about your physiotherapy rebate. At Koombana Physiotherapy we have a HiCaps facility where we are able to swipe your card on the day of treatment and your health fund will pay the physiotherapy rebate to us directly. Please bring your Health Insurance Card with you for use of this facility.

6. Do I need to book an appointment?

It is essential to book appointments at Koombana Physiotherapy. Please contact our friendly reception staff and they will organise an appointment for you and answer any questions you may have regarding treatment. Bookings can be made by email, phone or in person.

7. Do I need a Doctors referral for treatment?

No, you do not need a referral for treatment as a private patient. If you are involved in a workers compensation or motor vehicle accident claim and are under an insurance company, you will need a valid Doctors referral. You will also need a referral from your GP if you are under the Enhanced Primary Care Program Medicare Scheme.
